[insanejournal.com profile] tainted4life: Sometimes [Hojo Science] degrades into, "If I stick these two animals of the opposite sex into a VERY LARGE BELL JAR, will they mate?"
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: But that's why we love him.
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: HOJO: IT IS A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT.
[insanejournal.com profile] tainted4life: LUCRECIA: .....I WROTE MY THESIS IN POETRY AS A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT.

[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: SO. TRUE.
cheloya: (PW >> SMRT)
Welllll, I made the Dean's List for last semester. :3 This is an ideal time to receive this proof that, yes, I am occasionally smrt enough to warrant a semester GPA of 6.5 or higher. (I liked last semester. I really should have quit while I was ahead. XD)

Anyway, that's work over with. It was a fun time. By which I mean today was the SLOWEST DAY EVARRRRR OMGGGGgggggfjdhgsjd. *flop* It wasn't too bad, though, considering.

Anne Hathaway looks really hot with chin length hair. >_>; I'm not sure if it's the length or that it's messy enough to pass as normal.

Also, I love medleys way too much. Also theme songs. So a TV opening medley a-capella? Wins at pretty much everything but Rabindranath in song. ...and thanks to Chira, I have that, too. XD I will now direct you to her and avoid uploading anything myself.

[EDIT] NO SERIOUSLY IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DOWNLOAD THAT MEDLEY BY THE PENNHARMONICS; THEY INCLUDED "CHIP AND DALE: RESCUE RANGERS". THERE'S NO CASE TOO BIG, NO CASE TOO SMALL! IF YOU NEED HELP, JUST CALL...!

(I am a sad, but very happy panda.)
cheloya: (R&GAD >> there never was an apple)
[insanejournal.com profile] dairysorbet, I think the main reason that I like this icon is that in this icon Rosencrantz/Gary Oldman is pulling a face that you pull with great regularity. :'D You share great genius! (Not that we didn't know that already.)

To Do Tomorrow If There Is Time:
- get up (TRUE TEST OF ENDURANCE/DEDICATION)
- shower
- breakfast
- write presentation outline
- check outline/references against criteria

- write full speech re. language in post-colonial texts, apparently, because why do things by half?
- panic and/or rejoice
REJOICE! 8D
- refamiliarise yourself with the use of language in post-colonial texts, just in case
- continue attempting to learn Jap oral

- offer sacrifice to Leviathan in the hopes that your tax money will come in
- remember that Neek may be visiting to pick up Photoshop 7, and that clothes are therefore compulsory
- cook massive stirfy of doom (rice/noodles optional)
- buy Telstra credit for your uncle, since he failed to plan for being unable to buy credit while in Canadia; srsly, way to fail, guys never mind.
- possibly actually finish reading remembering babylon PFFF WHAT IS THIS READING OF WHICH YOU SPEAK; CHAMPIONS OF RHETORIC NEED IT NOT
- wash towels
- dry towels
- turn towels over
- try to replot AtM in some vague way, so that you at least know what to write in your synopsis/blurb
- try to avoid strangling Hiru with his own antennae
- ?????
- PROFIT!

(Well, while I'm giving myself impossible to-do lists of doom... XD)

[EDIT]

I realise I've been saying this a lot, lately, but: oh, physics.
cheloya: (POKEMON >> that's easy as can be)
Oh, Physics.

Oh, Physicists.

Oh, guys. Multiverses. Why do we even try? :'D This is probably why I love science.

[EDIT]

[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: .............TEAM ROCKET WAS RIGHT! XD
[insanejournal.com profile] leviathanmirror: .....when did they say this?!
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: XD No, I'm just thinking... white holes.
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: If our universe is a white hole
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: The Japanese Team Rocket motto ends with: HOWAITO HOORU, shiroi ashita ga matteru ze~
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: Which has always been translated as 'white hall' rather than white hole...
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: but in this context makes sense if they're waiting for a white tomorrow... where they can win things.
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: ...................................yeah, I think too randomly. Back to AtM.
[insanejournal.com profile] leviathanmirror: XD
[insanejournal.com profile] leviathanmirror: It was awesome random thinking, though!
[insanejournal.com profile] cheloya: Did I mention I loved physics? :'D

[EDIT]

Lol, writing phail. Tol is possibly the most passive character ever. He needs to stop being intuitive, because he's not. Nghkjhjfhja.
cheloya: (FFVII >> science! :D)
Don't ask what made me think of this, but:

J

...sometimes Hellsing just happens to my brain, okay? XD;

This story had me whimpering like an absolute fucking baby; I cannot even tell you how embarrassed I am by this, but blogging for posterity requires honesty in all things. It made me feel hollow and sick and dreadful because apparently that particular form of anxiety is a demon that hangs around to make you emotionally stupid even when you do nothing more strenuous than read about it. This one was also kind of totally awesome, and is illustrated by EK, so wins on many levels, including the one that says no one likes Leonardo best, because no one does, because Leonardo is a shitty ninja turtle.

Unfortunately, now I have to wait another two months for another volume of Shousetsu*Bang*Bang, and more reliably excellent short stories. :( Cry.

In other writing news, there is so much to foreshadow and peel-back-reveal in F&F. It is very difficult to do any of this without jumping back and forth between scenes and time zones like some kind of crazy hyperactive Spriggan.

That said, rereading what I have, uh, rewritten... I am so much happier with this. XD My characterisation has come a very long way.

Speaking of this universe, though: [insanejournal.com profile] tainted4life, [insanejournal.com profile] pinkumbrella, [insanejournal.com profile] leviathanmirror, [insanejournal.com profile] kessira and [insanejournal.com profile] teacupscientist what are our opinions re. mako therapy and human fertility? I want to say that high-class SOLDIERs are altered enough that they're no longer considered strictly human by most genetic processes, particularly given certain things in the absolute plot-vomit that is Crisis Core, but by the same token, it is essentially being infused with further life, and should this not, you know, improve fertility? Yes, I am perfectly serious about this. Talk science to me, guys.

(For the record, this came up because Reeve is trying to decide whether mako-infused bloodstreams can actually be passed on genetically, or even whether [insanejournal.com profile] ciceqi's amusing little theory about SOLDIERs and blow jobs applies - and, for the record, I think it does. I just cannot believe it never occurred to me before she pointed it out - although given Sephiroth's CC!based whining about donating genetic material, it was only going to be a matter of time. XD)

[EDIT] And now I have Button in the back of my head going, oh, honey, you've picked up the blow glow! HELP ME.

[EDIT] And now I am hunting for the Japanese FF7 script to determine what exactly the word that was translated as "clones" was. Because of course I am having these thoughts at Dad's place, where I do not have FF7 Ultimania Omega.
cheloya: (FFVII >> science! :D)
Dear World,

I AM A DORK.

Slightly embarrassed,

My suburb is the embodiment of Murphy's Law: the second I turn out my light to go to sleep, a car alarm goes off. Every single night.

Also, my body seems to have decided that seven is a good time to wake up pretty permanently, no matter what time I've gone to sleep the night before. And that having dreams about arguing with Danielle is a good plan. UM, NO. Fuck off, mind. (Seriously, she stomped off directly up the side of a building, which I assume was meant to demonstrate the intense power of her sulk, but still sort of left me wtfing hard enough to wake up. XD)

Also, lmao, lmao, I can't believe I have forgotten to mention this - Dad's place has been signed on, it should be settling on Monday, and they will be renting at Bellbowrie for six months. That has to be, like, ZONE NINE on public transport. XD XD XDDDD I have trouble visiting him now and he is only in zone three. (Okay, so Bellbowrie is in Zone Five. But it would take three buses, and there is no sensible option on a train except to get one out to Oxley Station and be picked up on their way home from the nursery. In any case: it is a galaxy far, far away.)

I feel as though today is a day for mad science, and I'm not entirely sure why. It just... feels like a Hojo day. (Which is awesome. ...if a little terrifying.)

[EDIT] Re. Gunnerkrigg Court: Hee hee hee. ♥ Do we like how Kat still gets defensive over Annie? Yes, we do. ♥

Iron Man.

I just had to come online quickly and say:

Iron Man.

Two and a half hours of questionable writhing and squealing.

The pan over the desk with schematics and parts and the coffee cup and asdf akjdhfud jakdyfsusdjfn sadbvcds

The entire film was such an epic fucking geek-out. WHO WAS THE VOICE OF JARVIS. I MUST KNOW. PAUL BETTANY. I knew I loved the man for a reason. It was. I just.

Hee!

I want Reeve to see this movie.

Tony Stark is just such a fucking character. ♥

Today I gots my mako injections vaccinations against the flu and against cervical cancer. :D It took ages and they once again booked me in when there was not meant to be a nurse doing things, but one of the doctors took the time to see me because it was the receptionists' fuckup. (How surprising. I've been there thrice and they all seem to spend more time chatting on the phone than doing work.)

...hey! :D Awesome! OneManga has Violinist of Hameln! (Now I have an easy way to read it, Wyrren, I can actually read it and write you that crazy... Lute.... thing... that I probably have written down somewhere. It involved swapping heads or something. I DON'T KNOW. T____T

Meme:
1. Pick a fictional character that you like.
2. Draw him/her in what you wore today.

In which Sanga does not feel pretty. )

Count yourselves lucky I don't wear miniskirts, guys.

Anyway, I'm feeling kind of... not woozy, exactly, just sort of headachey and fuzzy. Hopefully that backs off a little before work, or this evening will be an exciting place to be.
